Duties and Responsibilities
Org. Setting and Reporting:
The internship programme is for a period of two to six months, depending on the needs of the office and the intern’s availability. The intern will report to the Human Resources Officer in the United Nations Development Coordination Office (DCO) for Asia-Pacific, located in Bangkok.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated HR intern to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, possess strong problem-solving skills and have a keen interest in leveraging technology in HR processes. This internship will offer a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in HR environment and contribute to impactful projects that shape the future of HR practices within the organization.
Internship Alert: Human Resources Intern Position Available
- Work closely with the regional HR focal point and HR team in NY on various projects, including utilizing Power Automate and other HR technologies to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
- Conduct research and explore potential partnerships and innovative HR solutions to support forward-thinking initiatives within the organization.
- Support various administrative tasks, data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing employee experience, talent development, and organizational effectiveness.
- Support disability-inclusion aspects of common services solutions, in the context of the SG’s Efficiency Initiatives in UN business operations; Identify and engage with persons with disabilities and disability experts; Advocate for disability-inclusive practices with RCOs.
- Assist with communication materials; coordinate with different stakeholders, compile statistics.
- Provide administrative support to ongoing projects.
Qualifications/special skills
Applicants to the programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or,
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent). No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advanced course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.
- Strong aptitude for technology with proficiency in Power Automate.
- Excellent research skills and ability to gather and analyze information.
Languages:
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
