Background & Job Description
The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) is calling for applications for its 2025 Internship Programme. IGAD, established to promote regional economic integration and sustainable development, is offering internships to young professionals across its Member States. Interns will work in various IGAD Divisions, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to the advancement of gender equality across the region.
Tasks
- Provide support in the implementation of projects/programmes related to gender equality
- Contribute to gender mainstreaming efforts in different fields
- Assist in day-to-day tasks under the supervision of a Project Manager
- Participate in training and professional development activities
IGAD Internship Programme 2025
Qualifications
Education and Certification:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, or enrollment in a graduate (master’s) program with plans to return to studies after completing the internship
Experience:
- No professional work experience required (less than two years after completing a second degree)
Additional Information
- Nationality: Must be a national of an IGAD Member State
- Languages: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French is a plus
- Age: Applicants should be between 21 and 27 years old
- Skills: Strong communication, time management, and adaptability to multicultural environments
Renumeration: No salary will be paid, but interns will gain invaluable experience in regional cooperation and gender equality promotion.
Internship Duration: 3 months (non-renewable)
Duty Station: IGAD Member States, with the possibility of regional travel
