Role Summary:
The Associate Director, Accounting collaborates with the Director, Accounting/Controller, leading various finance departmental operations. Key responsibilities include overseeing, mentoring, and supervising accountants in their daily tasks such as ledger maintenance, journal entries, reconciliations, and more. This role ensures timely and accurate recording of the organization’s financial activities, promotes financial integrity across departments, and aids in the overall success of the UN Foundation and the Better World Fund (BWF). Key Duties:

Cooperate with the Director in overseeing all accounting duties like Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and reconciliations.
Ensure proper transactional execution and oversee timely financial statement preparations.
Manage regulatory report preparations, including annual audits.
Address technical accounting issues, ensuring compliance.
Monitor month-end and year-end closing processes.
Oversee the development of business processes and accounting policies for internal controls.
Coach, train, and strengthen team performance.
Stay updated on UNF’s contract procedures and use the Salesforce and Financial Edge databases effectively.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related fields.
9-10 years of relevant professional experience.
CPA, CFM, or CMA certifications preferred.

Proficient in GAAP and related regulations.
Familiarity with USG donor regulations (2 CFR 200 & FAR) is a plus.
Experience with diverse accounting software and a background in non-profit preferred.
Strong managerial, communication, and stress management skills.
