Homebased Web Designer and Web Developer Internship Positions at UNDP

Duties and Responsibilities:

The potential candidate will be responsible for the following:

1. Creating web page mockups for UNDP’s websites using Figma.
2. Designing and modifying graphics featured on UNDP’s corporate websites.
3. Contributing to the development and adjustment of components in UNDP’s digital design system.
4. Collaborating with project managers, editors, designers, developers, and production specialists on various web projects.
5. Effectively communicating design approaches to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:

1. Ability to conceive and develop visually appealing and engaging websites for desktop and mobile devices.
2. Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Required Skills and Experience:

Education:

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

(a) Currently enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
(b) Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
(c) Hold a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one year of graduation.

Experience:

1. Experience in digital/interactive design with a portfolio showcasing UX/UI design.
2. Familiarity with tools like Figma, InVision, and other wireframing and prototyping tools.
3. Basic understanding of design systems would be advantageous.
4. Knowledge of web accessibility standards.

Language:

Fluency in written and spoken English is required, and additional language skills in a UN language would be beneficial.

Availability:

The candidate must be available for at least four days a week.

7. Copy of Medical Insurance.

UNDP Terms & Conditions for Internship:

1. Individuals hired under these conditions are not considered staff and, therefore, are not covered by UN Staff Regulations and Rules.
2. The UNDP internship program does not provide a salary or remuneration.

4. UNDP assumes no responsibility for costs incurred due to accidents, illnesses, or death during the internship.
5. The intern is responsible for obtaining the necessary visas and arranging travel to and from the duty station where the internship will take place.
