Key Responsibilities
As an Information Technology Graduate Intern at Plan International, you will gain hands-on experience and exposure to various aspects of IT operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- IT Incident Management: Responsible for the effective implementation of the IT incident management process, ensuring timely resolution and reporting of incidents.
- IT Service Operation and Support: Receive, register, classify, and ensure the resolution of all IT service support requests, providing technical assistance to staff and stakeholders.
- IT Service Availability Management: Define, analyze, plan, measure, and improve all aspects of IT service availability, ensuring consistent and reliable IT services.
- Community IT Expertise: Provide IT expertise to the communities we work with, using technology as a medium for development and empowering community members through digital literacy.
- IT Problem Management: Manage the lifecycle of all IT problems, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.
- IT Information Security: Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization’s assets, information, data, and IT services, adhering to security best practices.
- Corporate System Implementation: Support corporate system implementation through capacity-building training interventions and provide required support to users.
- Policy Compliance: Promote and abide by internal policies and procedures, including child protection policy, gender equality policy, code of conduct, and mandatory reporting responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience
To succeed as an Information Technology Graduate Intern at Plan International, you will need:
- Education: A recent graduate with a degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Information Systems, or Computer Studies.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Technical Skills: Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Windows/Office environment and proficiency in analytical tools.
- Confidentiality: Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Knowledge of Child Protection: Awareness of child protection, community participation, and partnership principles.

Application Process
Interested candidates who meet the above requirements are required to submit their curriculum vitae and a cover letter outlining their suitability for the position. A range of pre-employment checks will be undertaken in conformity with Plan International’s Safeguarding Children and Young People policy. Plan International also participates in the Inter Agency Misconduct Disclosure Scheme. In line with this scheme, we will request information from applicants’ previous employers about any findings of sexual exploitation, sexual abuse, and/or sexual harassment during employment, or incidents under investigation when the applicant left employment. Location and Type of Role
This position is open to Zimbabwean nationals and will be based in Harare and Mutoko. It is a fixed-term contract.
