Background & Job Description
Good Food Good Farming (GFGF) is a robust civil society alliance, hosted by “Meine Landwirtschaft” and the German Nature Conservation Alliance (Deutscher Naturschutzring e.V.). It unites civil society organizations, farming groups, activists, and citizens across Europe, advocating for sustainable and just food systems. GFGF’s core mission is to influence decision-makers and challenge agricultural policies that negatively impact biodiversity, public health, rural livelihoods, and the climate. The European Days of Action (EDoA), now in its 8th year, is GFGF’s annual coordinated campaign held every October. It serves as a vital platform for diverse stakeholders to organize local actions – from farm visits and protests to community dinners – all contributing to a larger, continent-wide movement for systemic change in food and farming. This freelance role is crucial for the successful planning and execution of the 2025 EDoA campaign, offering a hands-on introduction to transnational campaigning.
Tasks
The freelance professional will primarily support the planning and execution of the 2025 European Days of Action campaign. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the coordination, implementation, and follow-up of the EDoA campaign.
- Supporting social media communications, including content planning for platforms like Bluesky and LinkedIn.
- Helping to maintain and update the GFGF website (WordPress).
- Contributing to stakeholder mapping and the mobilization of new participants across Europe.
- Participating in and providing logistical support for an event visit in October.
- Supporting additional GFGF workstreams as needed, such as project management, communications, reporting, and donor engagement.

No specific degree or certification is explicitly stated as mandatory, but a basic understanding of sustainable agriculture and EU agricultural policy is required.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have an interest in creative campaigning and hands-on organizing, along with strong communication and coordination skills. Initial experience or enthusiasm for social media campaigning is important, as is familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS), particularly WordPress. Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in additional European languages is a plus. The role requires a proactive attitude, a passion for food systems transformation, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative yet independent environment with a small, highly engaged team. GFGF values diversity and encourages applications from all qualified individuals.
Additional Information
