Background & Job Description
The West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) is accepting applications for the Next Generation Internship Programme (NGIP), a fully funded six-month internship designed for young professionals and recent graduates. The internship will take place in Accra, Ghana, from July to December 2025, and aims to build the capacity of emerging civil society leaders in West Africa.
Interns will receive intensive mentorship and hands-on experience working in WACSI’s three core departments:
- Capacity Development
- Policy Influencing and Advocacy
- Knowledge Management
This programme provides young West Africans with the opportunity to contribute to sustainable development and civic engagement across the region.
Tasks
Interns will:
- Assist in research and report writing
- Support training and policy engagement events
- Participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives
- Contribute to publications and strategic communication
- Engage in learning and professional development activities

Qualifications
Education and Certification:
- Must hold at least a first degree in international affairs, political science, law, development studies, public policy, or a related field
Experience:
- 0–3 years of experience
- Strong research and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet research
- Multilingual applicants (English and French/Portuguese) are encouraged to apply
- Demonstrated interest in civil society and development
