Organizational Setting:
The Office of Communications (OCC) is responsible for both external and internal communications of the Organization. It aims at making FAO’s communications strategic, coherent, focused, and impactful, while ensuring effectiveness and efficiency in communication-related operations. Tasks and Responsibilities:
In close collaboration with OCC branches and focal points, the incumbent will:
- Contribute to the development and strengthening of social media presence, in a strategic and coordinated manner across all platforms managed by the Office of Communications.
- Support digital campaigns, including drafting campaign strategies, overseeing the production of content related to the campaign, creating content plans, and producing final evaluation reports.
- Develop, review, proofread, and provide clearance for a wide range of communication materials for use on FAO’s social media channels, ensuring consistency with FAO’s key messages, terminology, and style.
- Contribute to the daily management of FAO’s English presence on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others.
- Draft and review copies for other corporate channels in English. FAO Is Hiring a Communications Specialist in Social Media for Global Impact
- Support the clearance for new corporate accounts and pages, in compliance with the social media policy.
- Provide recommendations on improving digital influencer-related social media content and activities.
- Support the overall social media marketing strategy for FAO.
- Work with graphic designers to produce content for digital channels and campaigns.
- Support the formulation of the corporate social media policy and influencer engagement strategy.
- Support the creation of TikTok and Instagram videos and campaigns with digital influencers.

- Maintain liaison with the Office of Communication (OCC) to ensure compliance with OCC standards and clearance processes. FAO Is Hiring a Communications Specialist in Social Media for Global Impact
- All communication materials will follow FAO clearance processes and comply with FAO standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- University degree in communication, social science, journalism, political science, or a related field.
- 1 year (Level C) or 5 years (Level B) of relevant experience in digital communication and content production for digital platforms.
- Working knowledge (Level C) of English and limited knowledge of another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) for consultants. Selection Criteria:
- Level, extent, and relevance of experience with social media, social media campaigns, influencer marketing, digital marketing, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Ability to participate and work in a team under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience working in complex environments.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple work streams.
- Depth of English language skills: full fluency in written English.
