OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME:

The Management Office at the Cluster level has been established in the organizational structure to provide support for Managers and staff to fully assume their responsibilities and ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, rules, and regulations on all administrative and financial matters and transactions. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

The GMC/Project Management Office (PMO) is primarily responsible for:

  • Developing project management capacity among GMC unit staff members.
  • Establishing a mechanism for successful project management using the WHO Project Management Framework (initiate, implement, and close the project).
  • Producing the GMC project monthly update.
  • Providing PM training/webinar and consulting sessions. Exciting Opportunity : Join WHO as a Project Management Officer
  • Leading and documenting the GMC project Steering Committee meetings, following up on action points.
  • Publishing/updating the GMC KPI dashboard in collaboration with the ITM team.
  • Supporting GMC Units in maintaining/migrating their respective intranet pages to the new platform.
  • Designing and supporting applications/tools for effective data collection from Country offices and facilitating work. These tools are developed on the Caspio framework.
  • Supporting the GMC in taking weekly meeting minutes with OSS and CPS and the GMC-Unit heads semi-monthly meetings. Exciting Opportunity : Join WHO as a Project Management Officer
  • Managing GMC director-specific projects (GMC Newsletter, OO meeting).
  • Leading the PMO team (3 people), coordinating team activities, and ensuring service continuity.
  • Guiding, training, and assessing PMO team members in all areas of activities.
  • Coordinating and updating the PMO work plan at least every month.
  • Interacting with GMC team leads to identify processes where the PMO could provide added value (consulting, new app design). Exciting Opportunity : Join WHO as a Project Management Officer
  • Ensuring the application of the WHO PM framework in all projects managed by the PMO team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Essential: First university degree in Information System (Application design).
  • Desirable: Project management certification.

Experience:

  • Essential: At least 5 years of experience in project management and 3 years as a System Analyst.
  • Desirable: At least 3 years of experience in administration or 2 years in Text/Edition of review/newsletter. Progressive managerial responsibility at the international level will be an asset. Exciting Opportunity : Join WHO as a Project Management Officer

  • Proven skills in Project Management, planning, and organizing.

REMUNERATION:

WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for this position includes an annual base salary starting at USD 64,121 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment reflecting the cost of living, and other benefits such as 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
