Duties and Responsibilities
The Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP) is a prominent global knowledge brokerage that brings together policy, business, and finance professionals and organizations. Committed to fostering an inclusive green and circular economy, the GGKP is spearheaded by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the World Bank. GGKP’s mission is to empower decision-makers in government, business, and financial institutions with evidence-based knowledge to support the transition to a green and circular economy.
GGKP’s services are delivered through its three core platforms—the Green Policy Platform, the Green Industry Platform, and the Green Finance Platform—as well as its online community space, the Green Forum. Additionally, GGKP provides specialized knowledge management, communication, and stakeholder engagement services for global projects funded under the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
Key Focus Areas of GGKP
- Utilizing top-tier knowledge management, communication, and application systems to offer practitioners, policymakers, and experts opportunities to access, share, and apply green and circular economy policy analysis, guidance, information, and data.
- Identifying and addressing major knowledge gaps in green and circular economy theory and practice by promoting collaborative research.
The FARM Programme
The GEF-funded programme, “Financing Agrochemical Reduction and Management (FARM),” aims to enhance the sound management of agricultural chemicals and their waste through better control, reduction, and elimination. The FARM programme seeks to generate a framework of knowledge and tools for financing sustainable agriculture practices, incentivizing financing through adjustments to policies, regulations, standards, norms, and market innovations.
The FARM programme, implemented by UNEP with GGKP as the executing agency for the Global Child Project, comprises seven Child Projects across Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America. Executing agencies include UNEP/Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Africa Development Bank (ADB), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and UNIDO.
The FARM Global Child Project coordinates the efforts of the Child Projects, promotes knowledge generation and sharing, and engages with international stakeholders. A consultant is required to support GGKP in executing the FARM Global Child Project, specifically leading the development, implementation, and monitoring of knowledge management and research activities.
Purpose and Scope of Assignment
