The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) is seeking a highly skilled Programme Management Assistant to join the Division on Technology and Logistics (DTL) at its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. This role, at the G-6 level, is part of the Economic, Social, and Development job network and requires a proactive professional with experience in programme and project administration, budget coordination, and front-office support for high-level officials.
The Programme Management Assistant will work directly under the supervision of the Director of the Division on Technology and Logistics (DTL), providing key administrative and technical support for various initiatives within the division. This position requires strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills to coordinate and support major programme and project activities effectively.

Tasks
As a Programme Management Assistant, the selected candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Programme and Project Support: Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of UNCTAD’s major projects within the division.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Research, compile, and summarize data on specific programmes and projects to support decision-making processes.
- Budget and Financial Coordination: Support the preparation, analysis, and monitoring of budget proposals, ensuring compliance with financial guidelines.
- Administrative Support: Manage priorities and workflow within the Office of the Director, including reviewing and ensuring the quality of project documents.
- Meeting and Event Coordination: Organize meetings, visits, and calls, manage the Director’s calendar, and prepare relevant documentation for meetings and missions.
- Travel Arrangements: Organize travel plans, including ticketing, accommodation, and visa processes for the Director and relevant stakeholders.
- Reporting and Documentation: Draft programme/project summaries, financial reports, and briefing notes for high-level meetings and publications.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between the Director and senior officials both internally and externally.
- Performance Monitoring: Assist in evaluating programme/project outcomes by tracking progress and suggesting necessary adjustments.
- Training and Guidance: Provide guidance to junior staff members and assist in onboarding new team members.
- Other Duties: Carry out additional administrative and programme-related tasks as required.

Qualifications
Education & Certification
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A first-level university degree or higher reduces the required work experience from 7 to 5 years.
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in programme or project administration, technical cooperation, or related fields (5 years for candidates with a university degree).
- At least 5 years of experience within the United Nations System or similar international organizations is desirable.
- Experience in supporting senior officials in administrative servicing of high-level meetings and conferences is preferred.
- Proficiency in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software such as UMOJA is an advantage.
- Experience in supporting technical cooperation projects is desirable.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.
- Fluency in French is desirable.
- Knowledge of another UN official language is an asset.
