Background

BERA plays a pivotal role in building strategic relationships and alliances to advance UNDP’s mission.
Assignment Description
As a Copywriter Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting various brand and marketing projects across print, digital, and social media platforms. Reporting primarily to the Copywriter & Creative Lead and additionally to the Team Leader of UNDP’s Brand and Marketing team, you will contribute to content creation, concept development, and copywriting for UNDP marketing campaigns, events, reports, video scripts, social media posts, and more. Your work will involve collaborating closely with the Marketing Services Hub graphic design team to provide copy support for various projects.

Duties and Responsibilities
Your duties and responsibilities as a Copywriter Intern at UNDP will include:
- Provide Copywriting Support: Collaborate with the Brand and Marketing team to create compelling copy that resonates with diverse audiences and supports UNDP’s mission and goals.
- Generate Ideas: Participate in brainstorming sessions and generate creative ideas for marketing campaigns, events, and other initiatives.
- Support UNDP Shop: Assist the UNDP Shop team with copywriting for new products, promotions, and marketing materials.
- Propose and Create Copy: Develop copy for Marketing Service Hub design projects, ensuring alignment with UNDP’s brand guidelines and tone-of-voice.
- Collaborate with Designers: Work closely with graphic designers to visualize ideas and concepts, ensuring cohesive messaging and branding across all communication channels.
- Edit and Proofread: Review and revise copy for accuracy, clarity, and consistency, ensuring high-quality content for both print and digital media.
- Learn and Adapt: Continuously learn about UNDP’s work, brand values, and tone-of-voice, and adapt your writing style accordingly.

Required Skills and Experience
Academic Qualifications:
To be eligible for the Copywriter Internship at UNDP, you must have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Creative Marketing or a related field with a focus on Copywriting or copy editing.
Experience:
- Proven experience in Copywriting for marketing, advertising, or design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your writing skills.
- Familiarity with various aspects of marketing and visual branding.
- An interest in the UN/UNDP, sustainable development, or SDGs is desirable.
Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of French or Spanish is an asset.
Availability:
You must be available at least three (3) days a week during NY Eastern standard time zone working hours. Full-time availability (5 days/week) is preferred.
