Digital Media Consultant Social Media Management and Content Creation at UNICEF. UNICEF is on the lookout for a Digital Media Consultant to enhance its digital communication, advocacy, and social behavior change efforts, particularly in social media, across key areas. The goal is to provide emergency responses and refocus on recovery priorities in specific regions of Ukraine.

Under the supervision of the Digital Communication Officer, the consultant will aid the Communication and Social Behavior Change teams in creating content and managing UNICEF’s social media channels daily.

The consultant will facilitate the planning, creation, and execution of content strategies, produce content with a focus on video creation, oversee daily social media tasks, and moderate the community. They’ll assist in managing digital communication assets, help peers with digital marketing, influencer and digital partnership engagement, and oversee platform moderation.

The consultant will report to the Digital Communication Officer and aid in the digital outreach of the Communications and Social Behaviour Change sector of the country program.

Overview of work assignment:

Deliverables:

  1. Creation and arrangement of content for social media channels.

Create engaging, interactive, and impactful social media content independently (conceptualization, copywriting, basic design, and video editing) or through contractors.
Enhance UNICEF’s ability to respond to relevant media or social media events linked to UNICEF’s mission.
Identify fresh opportunities to constantly enhance UNICEF’s digital presence to increase supporter engagement.
Ensure contractors deliver various communication content for UNICEF Ukraine social media channels in a timely manner.

Deadline: 1 February 2024 (48 working days).

  1. Management of social media.

Assist in social media editorial planning and processes in collaboration with colleagues specializing in digital marketing and influencer engagement and managing UNICEF Ukraine social media channels.
Schedule, proofread, and verify social media and digital content for accuracy and timeliness.
Post and review content according to the agreed advocacy and communication events calendar to amplify UNICEF’s advocacy for children.
Carry out other digital communication and content tasks as required and agreed with the supervisor.

Deadline: 15 October 2023 (40 working days).

  1. Management of the community.

Initiate and encourage valuable dialogues within the targeted community to bolster and amplify UNICEF’s communication strategy.
Ensure routine moderation of UNICEF media channels and engage vital stakeholders, including children and youth, on issues pertinent to them.
Maintain regular, high-quality content on social media platforms, and coordinate with the communication team regarding work progression.

Deadline: 30 November 2023 (20 working days).

  1. Monitoring and Evaluation.

Consistently provide quantitative and qualitative assessments of social media channels and content, and when appropriate, assist in refining messages and creative concepts related to the thematic area.
Aid in gathering and analyzing digital data in alignment with the KPIs defined in the communication strategy.
Help with the surveillance and community management of social media channels, identifying risks and opportunities for deeper engagement.

Deadline: 14 February 2024 (12 working days).

Sub-total: 120 working days.

Education: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in professional education in Communications, Information Technologies, Advertising, Arts, Marketing, or other relevant fields.

Languages:

Ukrainian: Proficient/Native [C2];
English: Upper-Intermediate [B2].

Skills and Competencies:

Experience using various online and social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, Telegram, Google, Facebook, with knowledge of social media management tools and video editing tools for social media.
Demonstrated ability to produce appealing social media content, with a focus on video content.
Proven capability to work both independently and as part of a team, with multiple teams, meet challenging goals, and deliver timely, high-quality results.
Experience with social and behavior change campaigns, and digital youth engagement projects is preferred.

i The costs indicated are estimates. The final rate will follow the “best value for money” principle, i.e., achieving the desired outcome at the lowest possible cost. Payment of professional fees will be contingent on the submission of agreed deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment if the deliverables submitted do not meet the required standard or if the consultant fails to submit the deliverables on time.
