The City of Johannesburg is inviting qualified graduates to apply for its Chartered Accountant Training Programme 2025. This structured, three-year programme aims to build financial management capacity in local government by preparing future Chartered Accountants with practical experience aligned to SAICA training regulations.
Participants will rotate across departments, gaining exposure to financial reporting, internal audit, governance, taxation, and more. The programme also emphasizes ethical leadership and integrated thinking, equipping trainees to make impactful decisions in the public sector.

Qualifications
Education and Certification
- Grade 12 (Matric Certificate)
- Completed Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA) / PGDA / Graduate Diploma in Accounting
- Must be eligible to sit for SAICA’s Initial Test of Competence
Note: Applicants currently completing CTA Level 1 or BCTA are not eligible.
