Background & Job Description
The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) is inviting applications for its 2025 Internship Programme, a one-year, full-time initiative for recent graduates across Kenya. The internship aims to nurture future professionals in banking, finance, technology, and public service.
Interns will gain practical work experience across CBK departments, receive mentorship from experts, and be exposed to the day-to-day functions of central banking. This program serves as a gateway to the broader financial services sector in Kenya, although it does not guarantee direct employment at CBK.
Tasks
During the internship, participants will:
- Assist with departmental operations in assigned units
- Work on real-time projects and research tasks
- Collaborate with teams across various banking functions
- Attend training and mentorship sessions
- Gain exposure to central banking policies and practices

Qualifications
Education and Certification
- Must be a Kenyan citizen aged between 21 and 29 years
- Must have graduated within the last 24 months with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
- Finance, Economics, Banking, Accounting, Statistics, Microfinance
- Human Resources, Communications, Social Sciences
- Information Technology or related fields
- Must provide a recommendation letter from a university or institution of higher learning
- Must possess valid medical insurance coverage from SHIF or a recognized provider
Experience
- Applicants must not have any prior internship or work-related experience in their area of study
- Basic computer proficiency required
