Tasks
The FAO Programme Evaluation and Management positions involve a range of responsibilities focused on managing and evaluating projects in line with FAO’s goals:
Programme Evaluation
- Conduct evaluations of ongoing FAO programmes and projects to assess their effectiveness, efficiency, and impact on sustainable development.
- Collect data, analyze performance metrics, and prepare reports to assess the achievement of project goals in food security, agriculture, and nutrition.
- Work closely with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and ensure lessons learned are incorporated into future programs.
Project Management
- Design, implement, and manage projects within FAO’s agricultural and food security mandates.
- Coordinate project teams, and support the development of project workplans, budgets, and timelines.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to FAO’s policies and procedures for project implementation.
- Liaise with partners, governments, and donors to ensure the smooth implementation of projects and the alignment of objectives with FAO’s mission.
Reporting & Knowledge Sharing
- Prepare evaluation reports, project progress updates, and strategic recommendations.
- Share findings and results through internal and external channels to inform FAO’s ongoing work and future programming.

Qualifications
Education
- Master’s degree or equivalent in fields related to international development, agriculture, project management, or a similar discipline.
- Bachelor’s degree with additional years of relevant experience may also be considered.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in programme evaluation, project management, or related fields in international development or food security.
- Experience in managing or evaluating large-scale projects in multilateral organizations or international NGOs is highly desirable.
- Experience in FAO’s areas such as agriculture, sustainability, nutrition, or climate change is a strong advantage.
Languages
- Fluency in English is required.
- Proficiency in other UN languages (such as French, Spanish, Arabic, or Chinese) is a plus.
Technical Skills
