Role Overview

As a Junior Social Media and Research Consultant at UN Women ROAP, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our digital presence, amplifying our message, and fostering engagement with diverse stakeholders. Reporting to the Regional Communications Specialist, you will work collaboratively with our communications team to develop and implement strategic communication initiatives that raise awareness, drive advocacy, and promote gender equality.

Your primary responsibilities will encompass managing our social media platforms, crafting compelling content, conducting research, analyzing data, and supporting advocacy efforts across the region. Through your creativity, digital acumen, and unwavering commitment to gender equality, you will help propel UN Women’s mission forward and effect positive change in the lives of women and girls throughout Asia and the Pacific.

The Implementation Research Consultant will support the execution of implementation research in countries within designated regions. The incumbent will guide and support generating evidence from embedded implementation research in MNCAH programs to improve coverage and equity in priority countries (e.g., Gavi, GFF, Global Fund).

The role involves disseminating findings from embedded implementation research and building capacity within countries, both within UNICEF and partners, on methodology and approach to embedded implementation research leading to timely improvements in program delivery of MNCAH services. The incumbent collaborates closely with members of the PHC-HSS Unit, the Immunization Unit, DHIS unit, other health colleagues, and partners, such as Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and WHO (e.g., the Alliance for Health Policy

Key Responsibilities

Your role as a Junior Social Media and Research Consultant will entail a diverse array of responsibilities aimed at enhancing UN Women ROAP’s visibility, engagement, and impact. These responsibilities include:

  1. Managing UN Women ROAP’s social media channels with a focus on consistency, relevance, and alignment with organizational branding and communication guidelines.
  2. Developing and curating engaging content tailored for various social media platforms, including but not limited to text, images, videos, and infographics.
  3. Utilizing social media management tools to schedule posts, monitor engagement metrics, and optimize content performance.
  4. Conducting research and analysis to inform content strategy, identify audience insights, and track trends related to gender equality and women’s empowerment.
  5. Compiling and producing social media analytics reports to assess the effectiveness of our digital communication efforts and inform decision-making.
  6. Managing ROAP’s digital assets, including our Trello board, design files archive, databases, and other relevant systems to ensure accessibility and organization.
  7. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support publicity/outreach efforts for ROAP’s programs, events, and campaigns.
  8. Providing live coverage of UN Women events, workshops, and conferences on social media platforms to enhance visibility and engagement.
  9. Assisting in the dissemination of information, publications, and resources through ROAP’s social media channels to amplify our impact and reach.
  10. Supporting ad-hoc social media and communication tasks as assigned by the supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in fulfilling organizational needs.
