Job Description and Responsibilities: As a Graphic Designer Specialist, you will collaborate closely with the NAIG program manager and elections technical advisor. Your primary responsibility will be to design, illustrate, and layout project, parliamentary, and electoral materials. These materials are essential for achieving outputs such as strengthening electoral commission processes, enhancing parliament capacities for inclusive governance, and promoting the engagement of women and girls in politics and public life.

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead Visual Communication Strategies: Develop comprehensive visual communication strategies tailored to election-related materials. Ensure these strategies are aligned with the project’s objectives and contribute effectively to voter education and civic engagement.
  2. Design and Illustration: Utilize advanced graphic design skills to create visually appealing and informative materials. This includes designing voter education materials, leaflets, promotional materials, posters, comics, video illustrations, and web graphics.
  3. Collaboration and Integration: Work closely with election operations teams to advise on the feasibility and impact of various outreach initiatives. Integrate design strategies seamlessly into broader communication and engagement strategies.
  4. Consistency and Branding: Maintain visual consistency in branding across various mediums and touchpoints. Ensure that all design outputs reflect UNDP’s branding guidelines and principles of inclusivity and diversity.
  5. Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate expert proficiency in design software such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Apply your knowledge of visual design principles including color theory, typography, preflight, prepress, layout, and print processes.

  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is required, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
