Description of Duties

The incumbent will perform all or part of the following duties:


  • Brief clients, staff, and partners on procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain consistency in approach and compliance with rules and regulations.


  • Deliver relevant processes, standard transactions, services, and work products in alignment with business plans.
  • Technically support training in respective areas of business operations.
  • Identify areas for process improvement to deliver optimal client service, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Information Technology Support Services

  • Network and Hardware:
    • Monitor and maintain local servers, LAN, and email systems.
    • Administer and maintain disk storage backups.
    • Ensure printers and photocopiers are properly configured.
    • Configure workstations and laptop computers.
    • Assist in evaluating and following up on new hardware needs.
  • Technical Support and Training:
    • Provide IT support for meetings and events.
    • Implement specific IT services as needed (intranet, IPSEC, Fire Wall, etc.).
    • Identify technical problems, provide assistance, and offer training on basic computing skills.
    • Maintain office software and ensure virus scanning software is up to date.
    • Organize storage and access to software, ensuring proper documentation and licensure.
  • Management:
    • Maintain log files and configuration tables.
    • Maintain contacts with IT suppliers.
    • Monitor stock of computer consumables.
    • Perform basic programming tasks.

Required Qualifications


  • Completion of secondary education.
  • Training and certification in one or more UN operational service areas or systems.


  • Essential: A minimum of five years of work experience relevant to the position (administrative support services and transactions in the operational support area, including information technology management support).
  • Desirable: Experience in administrative support positions within WHO or another United Nations agency, and experience in Oracle-based systems or another enterprise resource planning system.

  • Annual base salary starting at USD 20,537 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
