Job Purpose and Organizational Context
The Joint SDG Fund supports countries in accelerating their progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It operates through joint programmes (JPs) that provide transformative solutions implemented by governments and national stakeholders, supported by the UN Country Team led by Resident Coordinators (RCs). Strategic direction for the Fund is provided by the Strategic Advisory Group, chaired by the Deputy Secretary-General. The Fund is managed by the Operational Steering Committee, supported by the Fund’s Secretariat, and aligned with broader UN Development System reforms. The Administrative Agent of the Fund is the Multi-Partner Trust Fund Office (MPTF-O).
This position will be responsible for:
- Partners Networking and Fundraising.
- Philanthropy, blended instruments, and public finance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Head of the Joint SDG Fund Secretariat, the Partnerships Analyst will:
- Advise and Support:
- Diversify the Fund’s resource base and attract private donations.
- Engage in innovative partnerships with the philanthropic and private sectors.
- Strategic Partnerships:
- Develop and nurture partnerships with financial institutions, including banks, fintechs, insurance companies, foundations, asset managers, pension funds, and academic endowment managers.
- Forge relationships with other organizations in the Private Sector, including Development Finance Institutions (DFIs).
- Relationship Management:
- Establish and manage relationships with public and private institutions.
- Provide quality assurance on partnership and communications materials.
- Other Duties:
- Perform additional tasks necessary for the efficient functioning of the Joint SDG Fund Secretariat.
Institutional Arrangement
The Partnerships Analyst will report to the Head, Joint SDG Fund Secretariat.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- Advanced University Degree (master’s degree) in International Development, Economics, Public Administration, Business Administration, Public Policy, or related fields.
- A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) with an additional two years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a master’s degree.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years (with master’s degree) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant experience in International Cooperation, SDGs, or work in developing countries.
- Knowledge of sustainable finance topics and experience with multilateral, bilateral, and philanthropic partners.
- Experience in private equity, venture capital, recognized foundations, family offices, global non-governmental philanthropic organizations, development finance institutions, or financial advisory teams.
Required Skills:
- Experience and knowledge of private sector fundraising techniques.
Desired Additional Skills:
- Experience in developing strategic partnerships and mobilizing resources.
- Familiarity with the United Nations system.
- Experience with financial instruments (debt, equity, guarantees, blended finance schemes).
- Strong writing skills and ability to synthesize information.
Required Languages:
- Fluency in English.
Desired Languages:
- Working knowledge of other UN languages.
