Tasks
Fellows appointed to the Princeton Society of Fellows will have a dual role, combining research and teaching responsibilities. Key tasks include:
- Conducting independent research in their field of specialization throughout the three-year fellowship.
- Teaching one undergraduate course per semester during the first two years, and one course during the final year. Fellows hold the rank of Associate Research Scholar and are also designated as Lecturers while teaching.
- Actively participating in the Society’s interdisciplinary seminars, workshops, and events.

Qualifications
Education and Certification
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. awarded after January 1, 2024, or be on track to hold one. Applicants who have not yet completed their Ph.D. must have finished at least 50% of their dissertation at the time of application, and all Ph.D. requirements must be completed by June 15, 2026. Please note that degrees in Education or Law, and degrees from Princeton University, are not eligible for this fellowship.
Experience
Applicants should demonstrate teaching experience and a strong interest in undergraduate instruction. While not strictly required, at least one peer-reviewed publication or conference presentation is advantageous. Evidence of interdisciplinary scholarship is particularly valued. A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in academia is considered a significant asset. Individuals may apply only once to the Society of Fellows, so a strong, complete application is crucial.

This fully funded fellowship offers substantial support, including a competitive annual salary of $101,000–$105,000 (based on qualifications and experience), comprehensive medical and dental coverage, and extensive research support (access to grants, library services, and office space). Fellowship Categories: Applicants can apply under one or more categories:
