Background & Job Description

The Transnet Bursary Programme 2026 is aimed at building a skilled workforce for South Africa’s transport and logistics sector. Tasks

  • Focus on academic excellence and complete studies in selected engineering fields.
  • Participate in youth development and training initiatives at Transnet.
  • Develop problem-solving, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Engage with mentorship and professional development programs offered by Transnet.

Qualifications (Education and Certification) Apply for Transnet Bursaries 2026

Education

  • Current or completed Grade 12 learners with Level 5 (60%+) in English and relevant subjects.
  • Current tertiary students pursuing one of the following:
    • BSc/B.Eng. in Electronics Engineering
    • BSc/B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering
    • BSc/B.Eng. in Industrial Engineering
    • BSc/B.Eng. in Metallurgy Engineering
    • BSc/B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

  • No prior professional experience required; focus is on academic performance and potential.

Additional Information

  • Preference is given to applicants from designated groups in line with Transnet’s Employment Equity Plan.
