Background & Job Description
The Next Generation Foresight Practitioners (NGFP) Fellowship 2025 invites applications from aspiring leaders and changemakers who are passionate about shaping the future through foresight. This global fellowship is designed to support young professionals and early-stage practitioners as they explore alternative futures and contribute to long-term, sustainable change.
Foresight is not about predicting the future. It’s about understanding current trends and preparing for various future scenarios through a structured, strategic approach. Fellows will build their foresight skills, develop a project, and join a global network of more than 900 practitioners.

Tasks
Selected fellows will participate in a year-long programme that includes:
- USD 1,000 Kick-Start Fund to support your foresight-related project.
- Introductory foresight training to build technical skills and strategic thinking.
- Mentorship from an expert project partner in the foresight field.
- Bi-weekly resources and updates, including grants and funding opportunities.
- Access to regional hubs focused on key foresight themes.
- Participation in key global foresight events and projects.
- Eligibility to win a USD 10,000 grand prize for exceptional contributions at the end of the fellowship.

Qualifications
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- Aged 18–35, OR over 35 with less than one year of experience in foresight.
- Open to all countries, with special encouragement for applicants from:
- Asia, Africa, MENA, Caribbean, Central and South America, Pacific Islands, Balkans.
- Must be working on or planning a project focused on social, environmental, or systems-level change.
- Committed to collaboration, learning, and long-term impact.
Desired Qualities
- A pioneering mindset with bold ideas for positive change.
- Passionate about using foresight to address complex global challenges.
- Interested in contributing to one or more Foresight Transformation Missions, such as:
- Climate & Just Transitions
- Democracy & Sustainable Development
- Emerging Technologies
- Indigenous Futures & Methods
- Intergenerational Fairness
- Nuclear Security
- Peacebuilding
