Tasks

Throughout the contract-based programme, participants will be immersed in the day-to-day responsibilities of a Private Advisor. Key tasks include:

  • On-the-Job Learning: Gaining practical experience through job shadowing and hands-on involvement in a professional private banking environment.
  • Training: Receiving in-depth, targeted training in financial advisory, wealth planning, investment strategy, portfolio management, and estate planning.
  • Client Engagement: Practicing client relationship management, strategic report writing, and delivering integrated advice to clients.
  • Project Participation: Contributing to team projects and business development sessions.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Working with various teams, including product development, compliance experts, and portfolio managers, to ensure comprehensive client solutions.
  • Compliance & Risk: Learning about and applying compliance and risk assessment in a highly regulated financial environment.
  • Performance: Continuously being assessed on performance, with top achievers being considered for a permanent position.

Qualifications

Education and Certification

Applicants must be South African citizens with a strong academic record.

  • Required Qualification: A completed FAIS-accredited undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 7) or a postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8).
  • Eligible Fields of Study: The only accepted disciplines are BCom in Investments, Financial Planning, Estate Planning, Financial Management, Accounting, Economics, or Financial Software. Qualifications outside this scope will not be considered.
  • Accreditation: All qualifications must be accredited as per the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) list.

Experience

This is a graduate programme designed for early professionals with limited or no prior professional experience.

  • Geographic Eligibility: Applications are only accepted from graduates currently residing in the following regions: Freestate, Northwest, Limpopo, Mpumalanga Highveld, and Mpumalanga Lowveld.
  • Credit Record: All applicants must have a clean credit record as per the National Credit Act (NCA), as a credit check is part of the vetting process.
