Background & Job Description
Cultural Survival has launched the 2026 Indigenous Youth Fellowship Call for Proposals. Since 2018, this program has supported over 157 fellows and impacted more than 350 youth globally. It provides financial support, mentorship, and leadership development opportunities for Indigenous youth to design and implement projects that benefit their communities.
Projects should focus on areas like climate change solutions, cultural preservation, language revitalization, and sustainable livelihoods. Fellows will receive guidance from Cultural Survival staff and local mentors throughout their journey.
Tasks
Selected fellows will be expected to:
- Design and implement a community-driven project lasting 3–6 months.
- Engage in activities such as workshops, training, media production, and knowledge sharing.
- Amplify Indigenous voices and bring attention to community issues in global dialogues.
- Collaborate with mentors and meet fellowship deadlines.
Qualifications (Education and Certification, Experience) Call for Project Proposals: 2026 Indigenous Youth Fellowship (the call is open globally & stipend available)
Applicants must:
- Be Indigenous youth aged 18–28 (individuals or groups).
- Be committed to deadlines and working with Cultural Survival.
- Preferably know or be interested in learning an Indigenous language.
- Not be former Cultural Survival Youth Fellows.
Special consideration will be given to women, 2SLGBTQ+ youth, and diverse geographic regions.
