Background & Fellowship Description
Digital health and artificial intelligence are transforming healthcare by improving access, efficiency, and quality. However, research on their real-world effectiveness, scalability, and ethical concerns remains limited. To bridge this gap, the Center for Global Digital Health Innovation has launched this fellowship program.
The fellowship runs for 8 months, providing mentorship, research opportunities, and funding support. Selected fellows will:
- Work closely with faculty mentors.
- Conduct evidence synthesis or primary research.
- Produce deliverables such as systematic reviews, policy briefs, or applied research reports.
- Apply academic knowledge to practical global health challenges.
Fellowship Structure & Support
- Number of Fellowships: 14
- Funding: Up to $1,000 per student (depending on project and applications received)
- Duration: ~8 months
- Mentorship: One-to-one pairing with expert faculty
- Outputs: Research reports, evidence briefs, systematic reviews, or applied digital health tools
Tasks
Selected fellows will:
- Conduct literature reviews, data analysis, or applied research.
- Engage in projects ranging from AI-assisted healthcare delivery to digital health in humanitarian emergencies.
- Develop policy-relevant research outputs such as briefs or reports.
- Contribute to conferences and forums (e.g., Global Digital Health Forum).
Qualifications For Fully Funded Fellowship in Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence for Health 2025
Education and Certification
- Open to students with a strong interest in digital health, artificial intelligence, or global health research.
- No prior work experience is required, but academic or research background in public health, computer science, or related fields is an advantage.
Experience
- Ability to conduct literature synthesis or applied research.
- Strong writing and analytical skills.
- Interest in policy-relevant global health issues.
