Role Overview:
As an entry-level professional at UNESCO, you will be at the heart of our international activities, contributing directly to our core mandate. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape global standards in education, science, culture, and communication. Successful candidates will work in a multi-disciplinary team environment and play a vital part in achieving UNESCO’s objectives and implementation of its programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring specific projects, initiatives, or tasks.
  • Contribute to research and analysis to support the development and evaluation of programs.
  • Engage and collaborate with partners, stakeholders, and communities to gather insights and feedback.
  • Prepare written outputs, such as draft reports, briefings, presentations, and other communication materials.
  • Participate in field missions, workshops, seminars, and other meetings, representing UNESCO when required.
  • Adhere to UNESCO’s guidelines, standards, and best practices in all tasks and activities.

General Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong commitment to UNESCO’s mission and values.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and maintain effective working relations with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in at least one of UNESCO’s official languages (English, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Arabic). Knowledge of a second official language would be an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations diplomatically and to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and other digital tools.
