The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is seeking a Junior Evaluator/Research Assistant to assist in evaluating and supporting humanitarian initiatives. This role contributes to OCHA’s mission to coordinate effective and principled humanitarian action, providing research and analytical support in developing reports and evaluating humanitarian programs.
Tasks
- Report Development: Prepare an inception report within the first two months, followed by a data collection report and draft evaluation report after the initial two months, culminating in a final evaluation report.
- Data Collection & Analysis: Gather, organize, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data, ensuring accuracy and relevance to the evaluation objectives.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with OCHA team members to compile information and insights from various sources, ensuring that findings and recommendations are well-communicated and actionable.

Qualifications
Education and Certification
- A bachelor’s degree in humanitarian affairs, international relations, political science, or a related field is required.
Experience
- Prior experience in research or evaluation in a humanitarian or related field is desirable.
- Proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with tools for qualitative and quantitative data handling.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Additional Information
- Result of Service: The position involves delivering several key reports, including:
- Inception Report (within the first 2 months),
- Data Collection and Draft Evaluation Report (2 months following the inception report),
- Final Evaluation Report (within 2 months of the draft report).
