Background & Job Description
The Foschini Group (TFG) is offering a fantastic chance for unemployed youth in South Africa to gain hands-on work experience through the YES (Youth Employment Service) initiative. This programme gives young people exposure to real retail operations, including customer service, sales, merchandising, and store management.
TFG is committed to empowering young South Africans by helping them gain the skills and experience needed to pursue lasting careers.
Tasks
Participants will:
- Work in a TFG retail store and assist with day-to-day operations
- Support the team with stock management and merchandising
- Provide excellent customer service
- Operate point-of-sale systems
- Learn valuable retail, teamwork, and communication skills
- Follow instructions and support store targets

Qualifications
Education and Certification
- Matric is preferable, but not mandatory.
Experience
- No prior work experience is required.
Additional Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be South African, aged 18–28
- Be unemployed and not studying full time between April 2025 and March 2026
- Not have worked permanently for the same employer for more than 12 months
- Not have participated in the YES programme before
- Be available for a 12-month fixed-term contract
- Be responsible for accommodation and transport, if needed
- Preference will be given to applicants from designated groups under the Employment Equity Act
